Paige: Why are you so sad?
Rayna (shrugs): I don't know.
Paige: Come on...it's Alex, isn't it?
Rayna: How did you know?
Paige: Honey, I haven't lived this long to not know about these things. Do you like him then?
Rayna: I don't know, I would like to find out. But he asked out every other available girl first, except you and me, so I have to assume he's not interested.
Paige: Well...actually...
Rayna: He asked you out?
Paige: Yeah...yeah, he did. But I said no.
Rayna: Great. So I'm the last choice. That's what's so depressing. It's not that I'm jealous, I just hate being so utterly forgettable!
Rayna: *sob*
Paige: Hey now, it's okay.
Meanwhile...
Roxanne: Is something wrong, brother?
Alex: Maybe...I hope not.
Roxanne: Uh oh, what did you do this time?
Alex: Hey, I don't always mess things up!
Roxanne: *laughs* Yes, you do! And if this has to do with a girl then I know you've done something. Now, fess up!
Alex (sheepishly): I didn't mean to...
Roxanne: You did do something, I knew it!
Alex: Stop teasing, I really feel bad and I need your help.
Roxanne: Okay, tell me, I'll be nice.
Alex: It is about a girl.
Roxanne: I knew it.
Alex: And I want to ask her out but I don't think she'll want to go with me.
Roxanne: Why not?
Alex: Well...I sort of asked out every other available girl first.
Roxanne: Oh, Alex!
Alex: There's more.
Roxanne: Oh no, what else?
Alex: She's the one I'm most interested in.
Roxanne: I see. So, the way you decided to show her how you feel was to make her feel like dirt?
Alex: You see the problem.
Roxanne: Alex, you are hopeless!
Alex: I find her so fascinating and her freckles are really cute.
Roxanne: Wait...freckles? Are you talking about Rayna?
Alex: Yes.
Roxanne: Aw, she's very sweet, but I'm still confused...if you are interested in her why didn't you just ask her out first?
Alex: I don't know, I guess I thought she'd say no so I didn't ask. I don't know what I was thinking!
Roxanne: You weren't thinking, as usual.
Alex: I hate it when you are right. So what do I do?
Roxanne: I don't know. You realize you created what you feared the most?
Alex: I don't follow you...
Roxanne: You didn't ask her out because you thought she'd say not, and now that you've asked out everyone else she probably will say no.
Alex: Okay...
Roxanne: Nevermind, I just love the irony. The only advice I have for you is to just try. She might say no, but you'll never know if you don't try.
Alex: *sigh* Okay, I'll try, but I'm not hopeful.
