Photo Story: Alex, the Hunter (part 1)

Toby: So...you've been here for over a month...
Alex: Yeah...so?
Toby: So...did you or did you not claim when you arrived that you would have a girlfriend in less than a month?
Alex: *laughs* Yeah, I guess I did say that, but that was before.
Toby: What do you mean?
Alex: I mean, and I hate to admit this, but you were right. You said I didn't even know all these girls, and now that I do I can see that my earlier boast of getting a girlfriend so quickly was...rash.
Toby: I see. Well, I won't rub in in your face that I told you so.
Alex: It's just, they are all so nice and pretty and everything that how can I choose?
Toby: When you find the right one, you'll know. But if I might give you a bit of advice, just sitting around like this won't really get you anywhere.
Alex: You're right again, I should get to it and begin the hunt!
Toby: Hunt? *rolls eyes* Just be careful, don't hurt anyone...
Meanwhile...
Madison: Here Phoenix, I want to give you this hat.
Phoenix: A hat? Well, thanks, but what's it for?
Madison: Shelby and I have been using it for a while and we thought you might get better use out of it than us.
Phoenix: It looks good on me anyway!
Madison: That's not really the use I had in mind...
Phoenix: What do you mean?
Madison: I mean, I know you have an interest in magic and I think you might find this hat...helpful.
Phoenix: Er...no offense, but what do you know about magic?
Madison: There's a lot you don't know about me, but let's just say I've dabbled in it a little myself...trust me.
Phoenix: *jokingly* You mean, I can put my hand inside and maybe pull something out? That is such an...old trick!
Madison: You never know...
Phoenix: Hey, what's this? It's a rabbit!
Madison: Oh my! I didn't expect the hat to help you out so quickly! You must have more potential than I thought...nice work!
Phoenix: You put that rabbit in there!
Madison: No, I swear I didn't! Really, you have to believe me!
Phoenix: Well, if I didn't know you better I'd say you were fooling with me, but no...doing that really isn't your style...sorry.
Madison: It's okay. I belive you just did your first real magic trick.
Phoenix: I did, didn't I? Wow... *walks off in deep thought*
Alex (to Madison): Can I talk to you for a minute?
Madison: Uh, sure, what do you want?
Alex: Well, I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime...you know, like on a date?
Madison: Oh...well...Alex, that's really sweet, but I have to say no. I'm sorry...
Alex: At least you didn't run away this time, but is it something I did?
Madison: No! Really, it's not you...please don't think I have anything against you because I don't. I'm just not ready for that kind of thing right now...*sigh* It's a long story and I'd rather not talk much about it.
Alex: Okay, I understand, thanks for explaining it. It would have been fun, but maybe another time...?
Madison: I'm afraid it will probably be a long wait, but I'd like it if we could still be friends. I know there's got to be another girl around here who would love the chance to be taken out by you, please make her happy and try to find her!
Alex: *smiles* Okay, thanks, I will!
Alex: Hey there, Rayna, how's my favorite pirate chick today?
Rayna: *blushes* I'm fine, just working some more on my pirate book...writing is slow and hard work.
Alex: I know you can do it, and I really want to read it when you are done...can I?
Rayna: *smiles* Sure, I want everyone to read it, I'm glad you are interested.
Alex: Hey, Phoenix, babe...can I ask you something?
Phoenix: Sure, hot stuff. *laughs*
Alex: How would you like to go watch some movies with me? Say, three movies...I know that human lady has the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy in DVD in there and we could watch all three right now, like an all day marathon...what do you say?
Phoenix: Are you...asking me out?
Alex: Well, yes. So, will you watch with me?
Phoenix: I'd love to!
Alex: Excellent! Let's get going then, this is going to take all day...and maybe longer.
Phoenix: Sounds fun, I'll even ask the human lady if she has any popcorn, what do you think?
Alex: Sounds good to me...um, what's with the rabbit and the hat?
Phoenix: Heh, come on, I'll explain it while we are getting the popcorn.
*write, write, scratch, scratch, write, scratch*
Rayna (puts pencil down): *sigh*
